IRTIQA-2023: SKUAST-K holds Mehfil-e-Mushaira
Srinagar, Dec 24: As part of its 21-day foundation program, IRTIQA, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir organised a Mehfil-e-Mushaira (poetry recitation).
Besides the student poets of SKUAST-K, renowned poets of Kashmir participated in the Mushaira organised under the sponsorship of the World Bank-ICAR-funded National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP). Rashid Rahil and Abdul Ahad Farhad presided over the mehfil, where Engineer Bashir Shabnum, Prof Azmat Ali Khan, Journalist Showkat Sahil, Jamal Ali Karbalihee, Mirza Bashir Shakir and Hamid Nasir recited their recent poetry.
Students namely Junaid Mir, Yamin Khan, Aneesa Bashir and Syed Murtaza from SKUAST-Kashmir also participated.
Noted poet, writer and satirist, Zareef Ahmad Zareef, also interacted with the students and gave an insight into the importance of staying connected to the roots and upholding the cultural & moral values in order to help society in general and for the overall development of an individual.
Later a motivational lecture by Naseer Khan, Founder Director of Elevate Global Training Solutions Pvt Ltd, Pakeeza Botanicals, and Elevate Finishing School was also delivered. He interacted with the students and highlighted the importance of moving out of the comfort zone in order to excel in life.
The programme was conducted under the three-week orientation programme titled ‘LEED to LIVE’ under the leadership of Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir.
The efforts of the Director, Education, and Dean, Students Welfare along Student Welfare Officers of the University were appreciated by the Vice Chancellor. DSW, Prof Rafiq A Shahardar, thanked the guests for sharing their experiences to inculcate good moral and ethical values among future generations. He also thanked all the renowned poets.
