Irksome audio system in J&K LA pesters MLAs, media alike
Jammu, Mar 12: Persisting glitches in the audio system in J&K Legislative Assembly continued to pester the members and media persons alike.
Problem persisted right from day one of the ongoing budget session. On the inaugural day, the mikes developed technical glitch even when the Chief Minister and other members were speaking during obituary references.
Following it, as per sources, the Chief Minister had sought a report also on this account.
However, the problem still has not been resolved. At any point of time, the mikes would start producing jarring notes or would stop functioning.
This causes inconvenience not only to media persons covering proceedings while irks the members also, who can be seen, off and on complaining, “Nothing is audible. Mikes are not working.”
Today also the problem figured during the proceedings. As the members complained, the National Conference Chief Whip Mubarak Gul, who was in the Chair that time, assured to rectify the problem.
As per sources, the Chief Secretary in a meeting at Srinagar last year had issued directions regarding repair and maintenance of the Sound system installed in the assembly hall of Jammu as well as Srinagar. A private company had inspected the sound system and suggested installation of a new system, which however did not happen.
