Kangan, May 24: In an inspiring effort to promote peace and highlight the scenic beauty of Kashmir, the Islamic Revival International School (IRIS) Kangan on Saturday organised a “Run for Peace and Tourism.”

The event drew enthusiastic participation from students who came together under the shared goal of spreading love, harmony, and a positive image of the region.

The run was flagged off by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ganderbal, Parvaiz Ahmad, in the presence of IRIS Chairman Aejaz Ahmad, Station House Officer (SHO) Kangan, along with members of civil society and representatives of local trade unions.

Organisers said the primary aim of the event was to use sport as a medium to encourage peacebuilding and promote tourism potential in the valley. The initiative sought to engage youth in a meaningful way while projecting Kashmir as a land of hospitality, beauty, and cultural richness.

According to the Chairman of IRIS, Aejaz Ahmad, the school believes that cultural and sports events can play a vital role in uniting communities and building lasting peace. He stressed that such activities provide youth with positive outlets and help create an environment of mutual respect and cooperation.
