Iran's retaliation against Israel could be prolonged: Revolutionary Guards

Iran and Hamas have accused Israel of carrying out the strike that killed Hamas' political bureau chief,  Ismail Haniyeh hours after he attended the inauguration of Iran's new president Masoud Pezeshkian.

Srinagar, Aug 21: Iran's Revolutionary Guards spokesperson, Ali Mohammad Naina on Tuesday said that the country's retaliation against Israel could be prolonged.

"Time is in our favour and the waiting period for this response could be long," Naini said, referring to retaliation against Israel, and reiterating that "the enemy" should wait for a calculated and accurate response, reported Indian Express.

Iranian leaders are weighing all circumstances and the Islamic Republic's response might not be a repeat of previous operations, he added, according to Iranian state media.

Israel's war on Gaza since October last year has had many instances when the Former tried to incite a regional war by attacking officials of other countries, including Iran, Lebanon, and Syria.
