Srinagar, Sep 9: On the occasion of International Literacy Day, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah emphasised the significant strides made by the region in the field of education largely owing to the efforts of successive NC governments, said a party statement.

In his message, Dr. Farooq Abdullah stated, "International Literacy Day serves as a global occasion to reflect on the progress made in literacy across the world. It offers an opportunity to critically evaluate what literacy means in today's digital age, and how literacy teaching, learning programs, and policies are designed, implemented, and monitored. Jammu and Kashmir is a prime example of success in this regard, with substantial investments in educational infrastructure across all sectors."
