Intruder shot dead on IB in Samba: BSF

Rajouri, Aug 1: Border Security Force (BSF) today said that an intruder was shot dead on international border (IB) in Samba last night.

It said a possible nefarious attempt was foiled as the intruder was trying to sneak into Samba from the border.

A statement by BSF said, “During the intervening night of July 31 and August 1, the vigilant BSF troops observed a suspicious movement across the IB in Samba border area and an intruder was observed approaching toward BSF fence."

It added that the the alert troops neutralised the intruder and thwarted the infiltration attempt.
IG BSF Jammu Frontier, S K Boora while lauding the alertness of field troops said that the elimination of this infiltration attempt shows that troops on border are alert for all challenges.

"He (intruder) was approaching IB when he was shot dead by troops," he said
IG BSF added that in initial stance, it seems as if the intruder was trying to probe something in the area which could have been followed by some major nefarious design.
