Intermittent rains to continue in J&K till Mar 16: MeT

Srinagar, Mar 13: The Meteorological department today said that there will be no let up in intermittent spells of light to moderate rains in Jammu and Kashmir till March 16 afternoon.

An official told that till March 15 there is a possibility of intermittent spells of light to moderate rains and snow over higher reaches at most places of Jammu and Kashmir, while on March 16 there will be intermittent light rains and snow at few places towards morning, and improvement towards afternoon is expected.

The official held that the weather will generally remain dry from March 17 to 24, with cloudiness to persist on March 19.

The general public have been urged to avoid sloppy and avalanche prone areas while there is a possibility of landslides, mudslides and shooting stones at vulnerable spots.

The travelers, tourists and transporters are advised to follow advisories from administration and traffic department, while farmers have been asked to suspend farm operations till March 16.
