Intermittent rain, thundershowers likely in Kashmir parts till July 2: MeT
Srinagar, June 24: The Meteorological department today forecast intermittent spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers in Jammu and Kashmir parts till July 2.
In its fresh advisory, the MeT officials informed that on June 24 the weather will likely remain generally hot and humid with possibility of brief spells of rain and thundershower at scattered places.
The officials said from June 25-27, there is a possibility of generally cloudy with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain and thundershower at many places with possibility of heavy rain at isolated places of Jammu division. Besides there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain with intense showers at few places mainly in Jammu division during June 25-27, which may result flash floods at few vulnerable places with landslides, mudslides and shooting stones. Also water logging in low lying areas of plain of Jammu division is expected, with rise in water level in rivers and local nallahs.
From June 28-30, the scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir will likely receive intermittent rain and thundershower, they said.
They also said that from July 1-2, there is a possibility of intermittent rain and thundershower at scattered placed of J&K.
The officials advised farmers to suspend irrigation, spraying and fertilizer application till July 2.
