Reasi May 7: The four-day Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, concluded with enthusiasm and high-spirited participation at the General Zorawar Singh Stadium, Reasi. The event saw 135 students from various schools of Zone Reasi competing in yoga, chess, and table tennis, exemplifying discipline, skill, and sportsmanship.

As per a statement issued on Wednesday, the winners celebrated for their outstanding performances. In chess, Arav Gupta from DPS Katra claimed the top spot in the U17 boys' category, while Aryan Singh from BSM Reasi excelled in the U14 boys' category.

In yoga, Akshi Sharma from DPS Katra and Vansh Verma showcased remarkable flexibility and discipline, claiming the top spots in the U17 girls' and boys' categories, respectively. The table tennis matches were equally thrilling, with participants displaying impressive skills.

Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) Reasi, Asha Devi, praised the participants' efforts and thanked the officiating staff and supporting officials for their dedication. "The Department of Youth Services and Sports is committed to promoting physical education and fostering a spirit of healthy competition among students," she emphasised.

The competitions served as a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their talents and learn valuable life skills. The department's initiatives aim to nurture a culture of sports and wellness in the UT.

Among the winners were, in U-17 Boys Chess, Arav Gupta (DPS Katra), Divansh Rajput (TPHS Katra), Tanmay Jamwal (TPHS Katra), and Sahil Kumar (GHS Nomain).

In U14 Boys Chess Aryan Singh (BSM Reasi), Yohan Gandotra (TSN Reasi), and Kartikya Paroch (HSS Gurukul Reasi). In U-14 Girls Chess: Upasna Sharma (NEW School), Pratiba Bharti (BVM Reasi), Ektia Devi (BVM Reasi). In U-17 Girls Chess Simran Dogra (GHSS Panasaa) and Muskan Sharma (GHSS Katra)- Yoga.
