Rajouri, Jan 21: A high-level inter-ministerial team, deputed by the Union Home Minister, continued its investigation into the mysterious deaths in Badhaal village, Rajouri, on its second day on Tuesday.

The team, which had reached Rajouri on Sunday evening, visited Badhaal village on Monday and met one victim-family there.

On the second day, it visited another affected family’s house in Badhaal village on Tuesday.

So far, it has visited two houses, where mysterious deaths have taken place.

During its maiden visit to the village on Monday, it had also suggested seizure of the house of Muhammad Aslam, who lost eight members of his family to an unexplained disease.

“On Tuesday, the team visited the house of Fazal Hussain and collected various samples,” officials said.

The teams, officials further said, are also examining the places where these families reside in order to establish any epidemiological linkage.

The teams are working in a completely confined atmosphere. A selected team of local liaison officials accompanies the experts of this team and no other interaction is allowed.

The house that was examined by this team on Tuesday belonged to the family of Fazal Hussain, who along with all his four children had died between December 7 and 8, 2024.

“The team's visit to the household of Fazal Hussain, son of Nizam Din, is part of its (team’s) efforts to gather crucial information and clues that can help unravel the mystery behind these deaths,” said officials.
