Inter-district Volleyball tournament begins in Ramban

Ramban, Sep 5: The District Police Lines in Ramban erupted with youthful energy as the Inter-District Divisional Level Volleyball Tournament for under-19 boys kicked off today.

This marquee event, organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports, has drawn top talent from all 10 districts of Jammu division.

Roshan Lal, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) of Ramban, presided over a spirited opening ceremony. Jagdish Raj Sharma, District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO), set the stage with a rousing welcome address, outlining the tournament's significance.

In his speech, ADDC Ramban praised the initiative, emphasising its role in cultivating skill, teamwork, and resilience among young athletes. He urged organizers to include sightseeing opportunities, ensuring a holistic experience for participants.

Demonstrating hands-on support, ADDC Ramban joined the opening volley between Doda and Rajouri, igniting the competitive flame that will burn throughout the tournament.

A panel of sports experts, including Zonal Physical Education Officers, Physical Education Masters, and other field staff, are officiating the matches with precision.

As the tournament unfolds, it promises to showcase the cream of Jammu's volleyball talent, underscoring the Department of Youth Services & Sports' commitment to nurturing sportsmanship and athletic excellence in the region.
