Srinagar Dec 12: The University of Kashmir (KU) has selected six innovative startups for the MeitY GENESIS—Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) Cohort-2 funding support. The selected startups include Net Gear (Faizan Fayaz Khan), Vision Cosmos (Murtaza Abbas Khan), Rawa Lab (Najeeb), Homeway (Junaid Qazi), Vande IOT (Naveed Qadir), and Big Brick (Saurabh Kumar and Aryan Kumar).

Under the EIR programme, the founders will receive incubation support, expert mentorship, product development guidance, capacity-building workshops, and access to key networking and funding opportunities within KU’s growing innovation ecosystem, said a press release.

In her message, Vice-Chancellor KU, Prof. Nilofer Khan, congratulated the innovators and said, “This cohort reflects the talent, ambition, and creative strength of our youth. The University is committed to nurturing ideas that can transform society and contribute to regional and national growth.”

Registrar KU, Prof Naseer Iqbal, extended his best wishes, noting that the University aims to provie an enabling environment where innovators feel supported throughout their entrepreneurial journey. Coordinator, NewGen IEDC KU, Dr. Irfana Rashid, said that the new cohort reflects KU’s strengthening innovation culture and assured the founders of continued institutional support. The six startups were selected from 135 applications after a rigorous evaluation of innovation potential, feasibility, market relevance, entrepreneurial aptitude, and alignment with GENESIS priority sectors.
