Jammu, Feb 23: A three day “International Conference on Innovation and Sustainability in Business Development” organised by International Centre for Cross-Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu in collaboration with The University of the South Pacific, Fiji and Directorate of Distance & Online Education University of Jammu commenced here at Rajinder Singh auditorium in the varsity complex.

The keynote speakers for the inaugural ceremony of the international conference on Innovation and Sustainability in Business Development were Prof Gurmeet Singh, Deputy Vice Chancellor and vice president, Research & Innovation, The University of the South Pacific, Fiji and Prof Haywantee Ramkissoon, Professor, University of South Australia, Adelaide.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu and Founder Director, International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Gurmeet Singh highlighted the importance of creating balance between sustainability and innovation for creating inclusive and ecologically balanced enterprises, communities, societies and nations.

Prof Haywantee Ramkissoon, Professor, University of South Australia, Adelaide in her keynote address delved deep into the solving of societal and community imbalances through place attachment theory. She enabled attendees to have a global perspective of sustainability with reference to institutional practices and individual interventions.
