Infection control education programme organised at Aryans
Srinagar, May 8: A one-day seminar cum demonstration on infection prevention and control education programme was organised by Aryans Institute of Nursing, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh in association with Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Mullanpur, Mohali at Aryans Campus.
Sneha, Infection Control Nurse, Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital was the Chief Guest. S Jeen Mexima, Principal, Silver Oaks College of Nursing, Mohali and Ms Rajinder Kaur, Principal, Sri Guru Harkishan Sahib College of Nursing, Mohali were Guests of Honour. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over.
Sneha elaborated that Infection prevention and control (IPC) is an applied discipline that affects all patient care activities in healthcare settings. IPC, including prevention of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), is an essential component of healthcare quality and patient safety. Infection prevention and control is a practical sub-discipline of epidemiology that’s relevant to every health worker and patient at every healthcare interaction.
Jeen Mexima and Rajinder Kaur mentioned that infection prevention and control (IPC) is a scientific approach that aims to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and reduce the risk of microorganisms spreading to patients, health workers, and visitors. IPC is based on principles of epidemiology, infectious disease, social science, and health system strengthening.
Nidhi Chopra, Principal; Kamlesh Rani Vice Principal, Aakriti Chauhan, Deeksha, Umar, Masroof, Mohsin, etc. were present. The seminar was attended by Aryans Nursing students including B Sc Nursing, GNM and ANM.
