India’s Global Technology Summit 2023 set to explore geopolitical technology
New Delhi, Dec 1: The 8th edition of the Global Technology Summit (GTS), India's premier event on geo-technology, is poised to kick off from December 4 to December 6 in New Delhi.
Co-hosted by the Policy Planning & Research Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and Carnegie India, the summit's theme for this year is "Geopolitics of Technology."
Over the span of three days, GTS-2023 promises an extensive agenda featuring more than 40 public sessions, including keynote addresses, ministerial speeches, panel discussions, book launches, and various related events.
Drawing the participation of approximately a hundred speakers and attracting thousands of attendees, the summit will bring together a diverse group of policymakers, industry experts, academics, technocrats, and innovators, both from India and around the globe.
Ministers and senior government officials from several countries, including India, USA, UK, Germany, Singapore, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Lithuania, Brazil, and the European Union are attending. Students and young professionals, known as GTS Young Ambassadors, will also actively contribute to the discussions.
GTS-2023 is set to delve into crucial questions surrounding technology, exploring its impact on geopolitics, and addressing policy matters related to new, critical, and emerging technologies.
Topics on the agenda include digital public infrastructure, export controls, data protection, as well as overarching policy issues concerning innovation and national security.
The Summit's inaugural session is scheduled to commence with a keynote address by Dr S. Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of India, marking the official beginning of this influential gathering at the intersection of technology, geopolitics, and policy.
