Shashi Tripathi, President of the Navy Wives Welfare Association, unveiled the commissioning plaque before the Naval Ensign was hoisted to the tune of the National Anthem.

Addressing the gathering, Admiral Tripathi said the new base would strengthen the Navy’s administrative and logistical support framework and serve as a hub for information, communication, and collaboration. “INS Aravali will not only be a hub of technology, but also of collaboration linking our platforms and partners across the oceans, a true embodiment of our Prime Minister’s vision of MAHASAGAR — Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions,” he said. The CNS added that the establishment would reinforce India’s role as the “Preferred Security Partner” in the Indian Ocean Region.

He also urged the base’s commissioning crew to uphold the Navy’s core values of Duty, Honour, and Courage, and to “chart your course towards excellence through information dominance.” Named after the steadfast Aravali mountain range, the base will play a critical role in supporting the Indian Navy’s information and communication centres, which are central to the country’s command, control, and maritime domain awareness framework. With the motto “सामुद्रिकसुरक्षायाः सहयोगं” (Maritime Security through Collaboration), INS Aravali embodies the spirit of cooperation across naval units, MDA centres, and allied partners. Its crest features the Aravali mountains and a rising sun, symbolising vigilance, resilience, and India’s growing technological edge in communications and maritime awareness. The ceremony was attended by Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff, senior naval officers, and other distinguished guests.
