Indian Navy chief on official visit to US

New Delhi, Nov 12: Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), has embarked on an official visit to the United States from November 12 to 17, 2025.

The visit seeks to further strengthen the enduring maritime partnership between the Indian Navy and the US Navy, which forms a key pillar of the broader India-US Defence Partnership. During the visit, Admiral Tripathi is scheduled to hold discussions with senior officials of the US Department of Defence and meet Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), and Admiral Stephen T Koehler, Commander of the US Pacific Fleet (USPACFLT).

He will also engage with other senior US naval leadership and dignitaries.

These interactions are expected to review ongoing areas of maritime cooperation, strengthen operational-level linkages, and enhance mechanisms for information sharing and maritime domain awareness between the two navies.

Admiral Tripathi’s programme includes visits to key naval institutions and operational commands of the US Navy, where discussions will focus on shared priorities in the Indo-Pacific, collaboration under multilateral frameworks such as MILAN, and participation in the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) initiatives.

India and the United States share a long-standing maritime partnership founded on mutual trust and shared democratic values.
