Indian battalion in Lebanon undergoes command transfer in UN peacekeeping mission
New Delhi, Jul 4: In a ceremonial event under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), the Indian Battalion witnessed a formal Transfer of Authority as INDBATT XXV (Madras Regiment) handed over duties to INDBATT XXVI (Grenadiers Regiment).
Held at the battalion headquarters in the eastern sector, the event was marked by a military parade and the handing over of the battalion flag.
The transition also saw the induction of the first Female Engagement Team (FET) in the Indian battalion under UNIFIL, reflecting India’s commitment to gender inclusion in peacekeeping. The outgoing battalion was lauded for its professional conduct and community outreach, while the new unit pledged to uphold India’s legacy of disciplined and effective peacekeeping along the Blue Line.
