Indian Army launches Brigadier Usman Premier League for border areas

Rajouri, Nov 29: The Indian Army has launched the Brigadier Usman Premier League (BUPL) 2025–26 under Operation Sadbhavana, bringing together 16 teams from border areas to promote sportsmanship, community engagement and youth development.

Organised by the Nowshera Brigade of the Ace of Spades Division, the cricket league will begin on December 1 at the Nowshera Sports Stadium.

The league offers a platform for young cricket enthusiasts to showcase their talent, compete with passion, and win attractive trophies, cash prizes, and special awards for outstanding performances.

More than just a sports event, BUPL strengthens the bond between the Army and the local population, encourages youth to engage in constructive activities, and fosters unity and harmony, helping young people stay away from drugs and focus on sports.

Army officers and prominent civilian dignitaries are expected to attend the opening ceremony. The Indian Army has invited local residents to support their teams and be part of this celebration of talent, teamwork, and national spirit.

Last year as well, the Indian Army organised the tournament, which saw participation from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

The event received widespread appreciation from the public, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Army for providing a platform to the youth of border areas, enabling them to progress in life through sports and shape a brighter future.
