New Delhi, Apr 20: A frontline contingent of the Indian Air Force (IAF) has arrived at the Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates to take part in Exercise Desert Flag-10, a high-profile multinational air combat drill hosted by the UAE Air Force. The IAF is fielding its Mig-29 and Jaguar fighter aircraft for the exercise.
Running from 21 April to 8 May 2025, Desert Flag-10 brings together air forces from across the globe. In addition to India and the host nation, the exercise features participants from Australia, Bahrain, France, Germany, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Designed to simulate complex and diverse aerial combat scenarios, the exercise provides a platform for the participating nations to hone their operational tactics and share best practices.
It also aims to enhance interoperability and foster mutual understanding among some of the world’s most capable air forces. The IAF’s participation highlights India’s strategic intent to deepen defence cooperation and military-to-military engagement with partner nations, both within the Gulf region and beyond.
