Several military installations, including in Jammu and Pathankot, were reportedly targeted, though no damage was confirmed.

The Army, in a statement posted on X, said, ìOperation Sindoor: Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along the entire western border on the intervening night of May 8 and 9, 2025. Pakistani troops also resorted to numerous ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K. The drone attacks were effectively repulsed and a befitting reply was given to the ceasefire violations. The Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation. All nefarious designs will be responded to with force.î

Along the western front, Border Security Force (BSF) also thwarted a major infiltration attempt, part of what officials described as a coordinated offensive from across the border.

While India has refrained from escalating retaliatory action beyond ìbefitting replies,î the nature and scale of the attacks, described by officials as simultaneous strikes have heightened fears of a broader conflict.
