India seen as reliable global partner: Rajnath Singh
New Delhi, Nov 28: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India has become a “voice of balance and responsibility” in the current global environment, with countries across the Indo-Pacific and Global South viewing it as a trusted partner.
He was speaking at the Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi on Friday. He said India is shaping global discussions with confidence and strategic autonomy, driven by economic growth, technological capabilities and principled foreign policy. He underlined the government’s vision of ‘Sashakt, Surakshit & Viksit Bharat’, aimed at strengthening global peace and human well-being.
Rajnath Singh said the Armed Forces remain central to India’s resilience and security. “India believes in peace and dialogue, but when it comes to sovereignty and security, we do not compromise,” he asserted. He added that the military’s role extends beyond borders, supporting disaster relief, safeguarding maritime interests and strengthening international partnerships. The minister also highlighted major defence reforms including force modernisation, border infrastructure, defence tech, AI innovations and Aatmanirbharta-driven manufacturing.
