New Delhi, May 27: In the aftermath of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, India has massively launched a high-level diplomatic offensive, dispatching parliamentary delegations to key nations in a bid to expose the dangers of cross-border terrorism and reinforce its policy of zero tolerance. From Paris to Doha to Kinshasa, Indian MPs are presenting the government’s case with clarity and purpose, backed by Operation Sindoor, a swift and calibrated military response launched earlier this month.

A delegation led by Ravi Shankar Prasad, senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament, visited Paris from May 25 to 27. At meetings with think tanks and members of the Indian community, the delegation highlighted that the Pahalgam terror attack was a deliberate attempt to derail peace in Jammu & Kashmir. The military response, Operation Sindoor, was described as “precise, targeted, proportionate, and non-escalatory.” “India makes no distinction between terrorists and their supporters,” Ravi Prasad said, reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance approach. The Indian diaspora voiced strong support, calling for continued international awareness of the terrorism India faces.

Qatar: strengthening strategic ties

A parallel mission led by Supriya Sule, Lok Sabha MP, visited Qatar between May 23 and 25. Engagements included meetings with the Ministers of State for Foreign and Interior Affairs, the Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, and leading policy institutes such as the Middle East Council for Global Affairs. The delegation stressed the need for global cooperation in dismantling terrorist infrastructure. Indian officials welcomed Qatar’s condemnation of the Pahalgam attack, calling it “a step toward collective resolve.” “Operation Sindoor was a measured response to protect national integrity while avoiding escalation,” Ms. Sule said during the roundtable.

visit to Congo

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, a delegation led by MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde met senior members of both Houses of Parliament, including the President of the Senate and leaders of the Foreign Affairs Commission. DRC leaders expressed solidarity with India, recognizing the need to counter terrorism as a shared global priority. Operation Sindoor was once again cited as a justified and restrained act of self-defense. Community engagement with the Indian diaspora in Kinshasa also drew praise, with delegates lauding the diaspora’s role in strengthening Indo-African ties. Further diplomatic and media engagements are scheduled for May 27 in Kinshasa.

Delegation highlights counter-terror Policy in Singapore

A parliamentary delegation led by Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sasmit Patra visited Singapore to brief key stakeholders on India’s counter-terrorism policy in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. In a closed-door interaction with senior editors and think tank experts, the delegation emphasized India’s zero-tolerance approach and the rationale behind Operation Sindoor, India’s calibrated military response. “India has always acted with restraint, but we will defend our sovereignty decisively,” Dr. Patra said.

The event, hosted by the Indian High Commission, was attended by representatives from top institutions, including the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and the Institute of South Asian Studies. India’s actions, delegates noted, align with international norms of self-defence. Participants appreciated the transparency of India’s outreach and affirmed support for global cooperation against terrorism. The Indian Army’s swift retaliatory strikes following the Pahalgam attack has emerged as a recurring theme across all visits. Officials have uniformly described it as “a resolute, carefully calibrated military action rooted in legitimate self-defence.” India’s decision to send parliamentary delegations abroad, rather than relying solely on bureaucratic diplomacy, marks a new assertiveness in its international messaging on terrorism.
