India nearing complete end of Naxal violence: PM

New Delhi, Oct 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the NDTV World Summit 2025, said India is on the verge of eliminating Maoist and Naxalite violence.

He revealed that the number of affected districts has dropped from 125 to just 11, with only three remaining severely impacted.

“In the last 75 hours alone, 303 Naxalites have surrendered, including top commanders with high bounties,” he said. Calling Maoist terrorism a “grave injustice against the nation’s youth,” the Prime Minister noted that surrendered cadres are now returning to the mainstream.

“The day is not far when India will be completely free from Naxalism,” he affirmed.
