India launches BIMSTEC cancer care training program under PM's 21-point action plan

New Delhi, Jul 8: The first phase of the BIMSTEC Cancer Care Capacity-Building Program was launched at the Tata Memorial Centre in Mumbai, marking a key step in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 21-point Action Plan for regional cooperation.

Jointly organised by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Department of Atomic Energy, the four-week program will train 21 healthcare professionals from BIMSTEC member countries in Radiation Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiology.

The initiative, announced during the 6th BIMSTEC Summit, aligns with India’s Neighborhood First policy and aims to strengthen regional collaboration in cancer care and public health.
