India-Indonesia Defence Ministers’ dialogue to be held in New Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 26: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will co-chair the third India-Indonesia Defence Ministers’ Dialogue with Indonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin in New Delhi on Thursday.

The ministers are expected to discuss regional security, multilateral issues and new areas for strengthening bilateral defence cooperation. Mr. Sjamsoeddin’s two-day visit, beginning November 26, highlights the growing momentum in defence ties between the two countries.

It comes after the Indonesian President visited India earlier this year. India and Indonesia share centuries-old civilisational and maritime links. In recent years, their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has expanded through frequent high-level engagements and closer cooperation under India’s Act East policy.
