India, China hold East Asia talks in Beijing
New Delhi, Dec 13: Sujit Ghosh, Joint Secretary (East Asia), visited Beijing on December 11–12, 2025, where he met senior Chinese officials for talks on bilateral relations.
During the visit, he called on Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and held discussions with the Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs of China’s Foreign Ministry on December 11.
The talks were described as constructive and forward-looking, with both sides stressing the importance of guidance from the leaders of the two countries.
They reviewed progress made in stabilising and rebuilding ties, with a focus on people-centric exchanges.
Both sides also reviewed planned exchanges and activities for the coming year.
The Indian delegation underlined the need for an early resolution of pending export control issues.
Regional and global developments of shared interest were also discussed.
In addition, Ghosh met the Director General (Asian Affairs) of China’s Ministry of Commerce to discuss bilateral trade and commercial matters.
