INDI Alliance misleading people: BJP

Srinagar, Apr 8: J&K BJP spokesperson Dr Abhijeet Singh Jasrotia launched a blistering attack on the INDI Alliance MLAs for creating chaos in the J&K assembly over the Waqf Amendment Act.

Addressing a press conference, he blamed the parties for  misleading the people."Since this alliance government has failed to deliver in the past six months, they are resorting to diversion tactics to avoid accountability on core issues," he said. The BJP leader described the uproar in the assembly as a "planned conspiracy" to distract the masses from matters of public importance.

Citing Article 252 Clause 2, he defended the Waqf Amendment Act passed by Parliament, saying the matter is currently sub judice and that disrupting assembly proceedings over it is a blatant misuse of taxpayers' money. “This is a betrayal of public trust. These MLAs are wasting time and resources instead of addressing real issues faced by people,” he added.

Dr Jasrotia questioned the silence of these parties’ MPs during the parliamentary debate on the Act and condemned their theatrical protests in the J&K Assembly as attempts to misguide the public. “Why didn’t they raise objections in Parliament? This drama is meant to cover up their failures,” he said.
