During the meeting, Ansari raised key issues concerning the people of the Union Territory, including the urgent need for the rehabilitation of families affected by terrorism. He appreciated the efforts made under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, while also highlighting that several cases still require immediate attention and consistent follow-up, it said.

“The discussion also covered the recent observance of Muharram in the region,” said the statement. Ansari expressed gratitude for the cooperation extended by both the Central and UT administrations but flagged the ban on a few traditional processions. He urged that measures be taken to allow their peaceful revival from next year, in line with religious freedoms and local sentiments.
