Implementation of restoration scheme of heritage sites reviewed in Ganderbal
Ganderbal, Jan 15: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today chaired a meeting to discuss implementation of “Revival Restoration, Preservation & Maintenance of Architecture and Heritage” scheme in the district.
At the outset, DC was briefed about the importance of the scheme and progress achieved so far wherein it was revealed that only one project Prayagraj Temple is under revival at present and project report formulation of other sites is under preparation.
Deputy Director, Archives Kashmir informed that for DPR formation there is provision for hiring of consultant by the Districts and has informed that if proposal from District is received, authorization along with release of funds shall be accorded.
The DC directed the Deputy Director, Archives Kashmir to provide the list of important historical sites to the Superintending Engineer, PWD(R&B), Ganderbal within two days which need revival/restoration.
It was directed that Superintending Engineer, PWD(R&B), Ganderbal shall prepare updated progress on revival of project viz. Prayagraj Temple and come up with detailed drawing and DPR in the next meeting.
Furthermore, it was directed that Superintending Engineer, PWD(R&B), Ganderbal shall take up matter with Archives Department Kashmir for seeking authorization along with release of funds for hiring consultant for preparation of DPR of heritage sites.
It was also directed that DPR of already 04 sites submitted by Superintending Engineer, PWD(R&B), Ganderbal shall be re-apprised as per heritage norms and revised DPR shall be prepared in consultation with Archives Department for which template DPR in respect of Malsahi Bagh Masjid shall be taken as reference.
