Implement crop insurance scheme : Tarigami

Srinagar, Oct 15: CPI (M) leader M Y Tarigami today demanded implementation of crop insurance scheme.

He posted on X, “Hailstorm has spelt doom for apple orchards in many apple-rich villages of Kulgam and Shopian districts. It is crucial for authorities to assess the damage and provide adequate compensation to the affected farmers.” Tarigami added, “However, it’s concerning that the government hasn’t accepted the demand of Apple Farmers’ Federation of India for implementing a comprehensive crop insurance scheme. We strongly emphasise the need for implementing such a scheme to safe guard the livelihood of of farmers.”
