I’m personally monitoring electricity supply in J&K: LG
Srinagar, Jan 6: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Saturday said that he was personally monitoring the electric supply daily in Jammu and Kashmir.
Joining the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Srinagar, the LG said that he monitors the electricity supply daily in J&K every evening.
“I monitor and get feedback on area-wise power supply,” he said. Sinha said that the damaged transformers were being repaired within 24 hours.
“There is no dearth of electricity in J&K,” he said.
An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that joining the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Srinagar, the LG thanked the people for their overwhelming participation in the yatra across J&K and commended their effort to translate accelerated growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi into inclusive growth and developed India.
“Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has infused a sense of self-confidence in the poor and marginalised sections of society. Janbhagidari is the strength of this yatra and the collective strength of people will play a key role in saturation of schemes and economic betterment,” he said.
Reiterating the resolve of the government to promote equitable and inclusive development, Sinha said, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the welfare schemes and rapid development in all sectors have transformed the lives of the poorest of the poor.
“PM Modi has empowered and enabled people to stand on their own feet for sustainable income and quality living,” he said.
“Today, the entire nation is proud of what J&K has achieved in the last four years. Our consistent focus is on the economic empowerment of women, farmers and youth for growth. We have to make sure they access and fully utilise the opportunities resurgent Jammu Kashmir has to offer,” the LG said.
He said that the J&K administration was always committed to serving the people with complete dedication and resolving their issues promptly.
Sinha also lauded the endeavours of Srinagar Smart City Limited and Municipal Corporation for transforming Srinagar City into a prime example of urban transformation.
He said that the massive and first-of-its-kind New Year celebration at Lal Chowk to welcome the year 2024 and the festivities till late night was an indication of positive change in people’s lives and restoration of Kashmir’s ancient glory.
The LG administered the ‘Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat’ pledge to officials and the citizens.
He also visited the stalls put up by different departments and handed over the sanction letters and benefits to beneficiaries under various schemes.
The beneficiaries also shared their experiences and success stories on the occasion.
IGP Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri; DIG Central Kashmir Range, Srinagar, Sujit Kumar; Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Muhammad Aijaz; and CEO Srinagar Smart City Limited, Athar Aamir Khan were also present on the occasion.
