Bijbehara, Aug 27: Two young leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Iltija Mufti and Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra filed their nomination papers on Tuesday from south Kashmir’s Anantnag and Pulwama districts.

“Today is a very emotional moment for me as both Mehbooba Ji and Mufti Sahab took their first political step from this constituency. It is an emotional moment for me,” she said.

Before filing her nomination paper, Iltija paid a visit to the grave of her grandfather Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.

“I miss Mufti Sahab very much. It was an honour to have our senior leaders with us. I felt like Mufti Sahab was with me. I could feel his presence,” she said.

Iltija said that on the assembly floor, she would bring to light the “oppression” and the “sufferings” people were going through.

“I have always stood by the truth and will continue to do so,” she said.
