Kargil, Jul 29: The Baseej-e-Imam unit of the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil Tuesday held a protest in response to "malicious and defamatory media campaign" targeting the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei.

The protest commenced from Markazi Jama Masjid and proceeded through Imam Khomeini Chowk to Lal Chowk Kargil, drawing participation from a wide cross-section of the public.

Protesters carried placards featuring the Supreme Leader and banners with slogans such as “Death to America,” “Death to Israel,” and “Death to Godi Media”, denouncing what they called Western-Zionist attempts to malign Islamic leadership.

Prominent religious and political figures including Haji Asgar Karbalai and Seyed Ali Musavi addressed the rally.

The speakers condemned the alleged smear campaign by certain sections of the Godi media and foreign outlets, saying that such actions are part of a broader historical pattern aimed at undermining Islamic authority and unity.

"The enemies of Islam have always resorted to slander and vilification—from the time of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) to the era of our Imams (AS) and their representatives," one of the protestors said.

"Today, they seek to tarnish the image of the Supreme Leader because he symbolizes resistance to oppression and injustice," he said.

"The rally concluded with a message of unity, resistance, and unwavering loyalty to the principles upheld by Ayatollah Khamenei and the global Islamic resistance front," the handout reads.

Participants vowed to remain vigilant against all forms of ideological aggression and media warfare directed at Islamic values and leadership.
