Answering queries about the potential permission for the significant 10th Muharram procession, IGP Birdi said that the decision lies with the district administration.

“Once the permission is granted, we will ensure the peaceful conduct of the procession,” he said.

The Police and civil administration have assured the people that all necessary measures would be taken to facilitate the processions while ensuring the safety of the participants.

Enhanced security arrangements, including the deployment of additional forces and the use of surveillance technology, were part of the strategy to prevent any untoward incidents.

The administration’s final decision on the 10th Muharrum procession is anticipated soon, with the authorities remaining committed to upholding both security and the rights of the community to observe their religious traditions.
