IGP Kashmir inspects Kothi Bagh, other police stations in Srinagar
Srinagar, July 1: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V.K Birdi, conducted an inspection of police stations in the Srinagar district, including Police Station Kothibagh.
The purpose of the visit was to comprehensively review the functioning of these stations, particularly in relation to the implementation of new criminal laws under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Evidence Act.
During his visit, Kashmir police chief engaged in discussions with the officers and staff at these stations. He stressed the importance of maintaining high standards in law enforcement to ensure public safety and security.
IGP Birdi underscored the necessity of upholding the rule of law and emphasized the Jammu and Kashmir Police's commitment to ensuring justice for all citizens.
In addition to the review of law enforcement standards, IGP Birdi also examined the status of the integration of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) and other digital applications. He expressed satisfaction with the dedication and commitment demonstrated by the police personnel towards their duties.
“The inspection and review conducted by IGP Kashmir reflect the ongoing efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to enhance law enforcement practices and ensure the effective implementation of new legal frameworks, thereby reinforcing their dedication to public safety and justice,” police said in a statement.
He was accompanied by SSP Srinagar, SP East Mubashir Hussain, SDPO Kothibagh Hariprasad K K , SHO Kothibagh Manzoor Ahmad besides other officers.
Pertinently, before his posting as SSP Kupwara, V K Birdi has served as SP East for over two years.
