IGP Jammu honours athletes for stellar performance at national championships

Jammu, Jul 8: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, Tuesday felicitated the outstanding athletes from the ‘All Jammu and Kashmir Sports Association of the Deaf’ for their outstanding achievements at the 10th National Deaf Sub-Junior and Junior and 27th National Deaf Senior Sports Championships held in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The Chief Prosecution Officer and Senior PO of ZPHQ Jammu were also present on the occasion.

“The athletes brought immense pride to Jammu & Kashmir by securing a remarkable tally of 13 medals, including 2 golds, 4 silvers, and 7 bronzes, across karate and judo events,” IGP said.

He emphasised that their achievements stood as a powerful testament to the indomitable spirit of perseverance and excellence.

Pinning medals on the winners, he remarked, “These athletes have not only made Jammu and Kashmir proud but have shattered stereotypes, proving that disability is no barrier to greatness.”

The IGP assured full support to all athletes with disabilities and emphasised the importance of building inclusive infrastructure and training opportunities.
