IED neutralised in Parimpora

Srinagar, Dec 27: In a swift response to a potential threat, security forces in Srinagar detected and neutralised a suspicious object on the National Highway near Parimpora early Wednesday morning.

A top Police officer said that the security forces discovered a suspicious object equipped with a cylinder on the National Highway at Lawaypora.

“To ensure public safety, a Bomb Disposal Squad was promptly dispatched to the scene to assess and address the situation. Out of caution, the decision was made to destroy the suspicious object using a controlled explosion,” he said.

The nature and intent of the object are currently under investigation, with authorities working diligently to ascertain any potential risks it may have posed.

The security forces' quick and efficient response averted any potential danger to the public, and measures were taken to minimise disruption in the area.

Traffic, which had been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure, resumed on the National Highway.
