IED dropped by drone recovered in Kathua

Jammu, Feb 22:  Border Security Force personnel Thursday recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), dropped by a drone along the International Border (IB) in Manihari village of Hiranagar in Kathua district.

BSF personnel, after observing drone movement, engaged it by fire. Later during searches, an IED dropped by it was seized.

“On February 22, 2024 at about 00:45 am, alert troops of BSF Jammu observed drone movement in the depth area of village Manihari, Police station Rajbagh, tehsil Marheen in Hiranagar area of Kathua. They engaged the drone by fire and subsequently the area was searched. During the search, the recovery of IED dropped by the drone was made,” said PRO BSF, in an official statement.

He said that the troops were on high alert.
