ICMR team inspects key performance indicators of MRU-GMC Jammu
Jammu, Sep 17: Continuing Medical Education (CME), in the form of a brainstorming session, marked the visit of Ethics Committee (EC) and Local Research Committee (LRC) members along with a team of the Department of Health Research, ICMR, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, at the Multi-disciplinary Research Unit of Government Medical College (MRU-GMC), Jammu, on Wednesday.
The team had come to inspect key performance indicators of MRU-GMC Jammu.
During the session held by MRU GMC Jammu, the EC and LRC members, along with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) team, interacted with the faculty members and research scholars, who presented their research ideas and shared their success stories.
Principal Dean Dr Ashutosh Gupta congratulated the MRU team of GMC Jammu for initiating various Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities under MRU and making it fully functional, meeting national standards.
Prof. (Dr) Vishal Tandon said, “There is a need to inculcate research culture at UG and PG induction time when they join institutions.” He stated that a total of 20 ICMR projects to date were permitted, out of which 8 were completed and 6 published in high-impact-factor journals.
Nodal officer MRU Dr Jyotsana Suri said, “Any medical institution attains heights of excellence when, along with patient care, medical education research culture takes root there.”
