ICAR-CITH, JKPICCA discuss ways to tackle apple production costs
Srinagar, Jan 5: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research's Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (ICAR-CITH) held discussions today with key industry stakeholders to address rising apple production costs in Kashmir.
Led by ICAR-CITH Director Dr. Mahendra Kumar Verma, the meeting at Rangret brought together representatives from the Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers cum Dealers Union and the Jammu and Kashmir Fruits and Vegetables Processing and Integrated Cold Chain Association (JKPICCA).
The talks centered on developing collaborative solutions for challenges facing the region's agricultural and horticultural sectors, particularly focusing on reducing apple cultivation expenses. JKPICCA's President highlighted the significance of such industry-institute partnerships for addressing growers' concerns. The meeting concluded with plans for joint initiatives to strengthen the region's agricultural sector.
