IAS officer Shahid Choudhary selected as Eisenhower Fellowships 2025 Global Fellow
Srinagar, Aug 20: Commissioner Secretary, Science and Technology Department, J&K Government, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, IAS, has been selected as a 2025 Eisenhower Global Fellow, joining an international cohort of changemakers working on sustainability, resilience, and innovation.
In a post on X, Choudhary according to Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) expressed his excitement at being part of the prestigious fellowship, calling it a long-cherished aspiration. “Honoured to stand alongside incredible changemakers from around the world — and looking forward to building bridges of knowledge, partnerships, and action that link local resilience with global sustainability,” he wrote.
Highlighting his focus areas, the senior IAS officer said the recognition strengthens his commitment to climate resilience and strengthening rural livelihoods, particularly in the Himalayas. He added that the struggles and innovations of transhumant pastoralists and farmers serve as a constant reminder that sustainability is not just a policy goal but a “lived practice of resilience.”
The Eisenhower Fellowships program brings together emerging leaders from across the world to foster collaboration and address pressing global challenges. (KDC)
