IAF’s Vayu Veer Vijeta car rally leaves Jammu for Chandigarh, Dehradun
Jammu, Oct 13: Indian Air Force’s ‘UWM Vayu Veer Vijeta’ car rally was flagged off by Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Jammu, Air Commodore Sagar Singh Rawat on Sunday morning.
A Defence Spokesperson said that a Pooja (prayer) was conducted before flagging off the vehicles.
Thereafter the team visited ‘Balidan Stambh War Memorial’ and a wreath was laid by Wing Commander Vijay Prakash Bhatt, team leader.
“Rally is fast speeding to Chandigarh and will arrive in Dehradun on Oct 14 afternoon where it will be welcomed by Uttarakhand Science and Technology Council in Jhajra for a reception. Besides, there will be a brief interaction with scientists on “Science and Tech role in national defence” led by its Director General Prof (Dr) Durgesh Pant,” the Spokesperson said.
“A special feature is that students from northeast, particularly from Arunachal Pradesh, where the rally will finally reach, will welcome the rally in their traditional tribal attire,” he said.
According to him, on October 15, the rally will lay a wreath at ‘Unknown Soldier’s statue’ at Uttarakhand War Memorial Shaurya Sthal in presence of state’s prominent dignitaries.
