Srinagar, Jan 19: Hundreds of people from different walks of life today participated in the Fateha Khawani of Manzoor Ahmad Baba, the nephew of Fayaz Kaloo, Editor-in-Chief of Greater Kashmir.

Baba, a resident of Nallabal Nowshehra passed away on Friday due to cardiac arrest. Many people including politicians, besides leaders and representatives of various social, religious, and trade organisations participated in the Fatehe Khawani and condolence meeting.

Prominent unit holders of Industrial Estate Khanmoh paid rich tributes to Baba who was a unit holder. They said Baba was always at the forefront of resolving the issues confronting unit holders and recounted his contribution in the development of Khanmoh.

GM Saqi spokesperson of the National Conference also paid tributes to Baba.  Saqi said that National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and Advisor to Chief Minister, Nasir Sogami telephonically extended condolences to Fayaz Kaloo and prayed for courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss.

A delegation of BJP led by district president Srinagar Ashok Bhat also extended condolence to Fayaz Kaloo.

Senior Trade Union leader and President of Employees Joint Action Committee Jammu Kashmir (EJAC)   Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam has deeply condoled the demise.

Shabnam paid rich tributes to the deceased and admired his hard work and contribution to society.

“I stand with the bereaved family in this period of mourning especially with Fayaz Kaloo. I pray to Allah to bless the departed soul and place him in Jannat ul firdous and give patience, strength, and courage to the bereaved family to bear this grief,” Shabnam added.

Chairman of the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) and MP Baramulla, Er Rashid, has expressed profound grief over the demise.

In a statement issued here by AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, Er Rashid, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. "The loss of Manzoor Ahmad Baba is a tragic moment for the family and for all those who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with Fayaz Kaloo Sahab and his family during this time of immense grief. May Allah grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannah and give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss," the statement read.

Inam Un Nabi, on behalf of the party, also expressed solidarity with the grieving family. "The AIP stands in solidarity with the family of Fayaz Kaloo Sahab during this difficult time and prays for peace to the departed soul," he said.

Meanwhile, the EJAC Vice President and patron of the Mechanical Irrigation Employees Federation (MIEF) Farooq Ahmad Khan expressed profound grief over the s demise.

"The ultimate demise of Manzoor Baba has left a deep void in the hearts of his family and the community. We stand with the Baba and Kaloo families during this painful time, offering our unwavering support and prayers for the departed soul,” Khan said.

The Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) also condoled the demise. In a statement, PSAJK president  Dr GN Var, said, "The loss of a young and promising individual like Manzoor Ahmad Baba is a tragedy that touches not only his family but the entire community. On behalf of PSAJK, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Editor-In-Chief of Greater Kashmir Fayaz Kaloo Sahib, his family, and all those mourning this irreplaceable loss. May the Almighty grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and provide strength to the bereaved family in this hour of grief.

Meanwhile, the staffers of Greater Kashmir held a condolence meeting at Rangreth office and condoled the untimely demise of Manzoor Baba. The staffers expressed condolence to Fayaz Kaloo, Editor-in-Chief of Greater Kashmir on the demise of his beloved nephew. They prayed for courage to the bereaved family especially Baba’s mother, wife, and two daughters to bear the irreparable loss.
