Huge quantity of crude wine seized in Budgam
Srinagar, Sep 12: Police in Budgam seized a huge quantity of crude wine and arrested two accused persons involved in its production and distribution.
A police party of Police Station Budgam while conducting naka checking at village Nasrullahpora apprehended two persons carrying 1 barrel of crude wine. They were arrested on spot and subsequently identified as Daneshwar Prasad, resident of Sirli District Sakti and Lakshman Predas Sahu, resident of Aril district Sakti Chhattisgarh.
During further questioning and subsequent search, 12 more barrels of crude wine, approximately 195 litres, were recovered from their possession. Both the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 372/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and further investigation has been set into motion.
"Consistent actions of Police against the criminals should reassure the community members that police are making all efforts to eradicate social evils from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law," police said.
