House gutted in Parimpora blaze
Srinagar, Dec 14: A house was gutted in a fire incident at Parimpora area on city outskirts.
An official of the Fire and Emergency Services department said the fire incident occurred at Mir Mansoor Colony of Parimpora on Thursday morning.
He said that multiple fire tenders from Headquarters, Safa Kadal, and other fire stations were pressed to douse off the fire.
"A two-storey house was damaged in the incident. The fire started from the top floor of the house and soon spread to other portions. The wooden material in the attic portion was involved in the fire. Our men prevented the fire from spreading and brought it under control within the shortest possible time. As per the initial investigation, the cause of the fire seems to be short circuit," said the official.
The fire victims said that they lost all their belongings and other household items worth lakhs of rupees in the incident.
"The fire and emergency services and locals did everything to control the fire. However, we lost all our belongings in the incident," said one of the fire victims.
