House gutted in Dharamkund fire incident

Ramban, Oct 27: In a fire incident a residential house of a farmer was completely destroyed at Dhramkund area of Ramban on Sunday.

No human loss was reported. However, a cow and three goats kept in the cowshed burnt alive.

The cause of the fire is said to be an electric short circuit.

Police sources said fire broke out suddenly in the house of Kamal Singh son of Nanak Chand in Dhramkund on Sunday afternoon at 12.30 pm, due to an electric short circuit. They said family members noticed the fire. They immediately came out of the house and raised an alaram.

On getting information a police team led by Inspector Rajeev Kumar  reached the spot and tried to douse the flames by pouring water. Later a fire tender was summoned from Ramban to control the fire but by the time fire tender arrived the entire house was engulfed in flames and all the household goods were destroyed.

The affected has appealed for help from the administration. Singh said, “We lost everything including ration, food and clothes.”

Station House Officer, Police Station Dhramkund, Inspector Rajeev Kumar confirmed the incident and said “no human loss was reported however one cow and three goats kept in cowshed burnt alive.”

He further said a fire incident was entered in the Daily Diary of the Police Station Dhramkund.
