Horticulture Deptt unveils Apple Orchard Management Guide

Srinagar, Mar 20: The Director of Horticulture Kashmir, Zahoor Ahmad, today unveiled the Management Guide for Apple Orchards in Kashmir for the year 2024. The event, held at the directorate's premises in Rajbagh, was attended by the Deputy Director of Horticulture Kashmir and other esteemed officers.

In his address, Director Zahoor emphasised the guide's pivotal role in facilitating apple growers in the valley.

Director underscored adopting the best practices outlined to ensure optimal orchard management and maximize yields. Bhat directed the guide's expeditious distribution to orchardists across the valley.

He urged farmers to consult experts from the Department of Horticulture and SKUAST before using pesticides or agricultural chemicals. "Consultation with experts and adherence to recommended practices are crucial for sustainable orchard management," stated Bhat. He advised farmers to prioritise safety by utilizing protective gear during chemical applications.
