Hope PM announces Assembly elections in J&K: Altaf Bukhari

Shopian, Feb 15: Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari Thursday that he was hopeful that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his upcoming visit to Jammu would announce elections in J&K.

“It is good news that the PM is visiting here. Elections have not been held here for long. We hope that he will announce the elections, marking the beginning of one nation, one election,” Bukhari told reporters in Kanjiullar village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

He expressed hope that the PM would bring good news by announcing elections.

“I am also hopeful that he announces jobs for our unemployed youth,” Bukhari said.

He said that the party would decide on the candidate for the Anantnag parliamentary constituency on February 21.

“All the senior party leaders are meeting on February 21 and we will inform the people about our decision,” Bukhari said.

He said that the Apni Party would form the next government in J&K and it would resolve the issues confronting the people.

“The issues like inflation and power crisis will be the big challenges for the next government. However, addressing such issues will be a top priority for us,” Bukhari said.

Earlier, addressing a public meeting, he said, “Shopian has a great potential of tourism, which needs to be tapped.”

Bukhari said that those who vote for the Apni Party would not be disappointed.

He said that the political leaders of Kashmir were responsible for all the problems people were facing.

“They always lied. Our youth are languishing in jails. They should answer who led them on this path,” Bukhari said.

He told the workers that their enemy was not the Police, but those political leaders who always lied and deceived them.
