Home Minister should soften his heart for J&K youth: Iltija Mufti

Ganderbal, Sep 22: PDP  leader Iltija  Mufti has said that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah should soften his heart  for the people of Jammu and Kashmir including youth .

She made an emotional appeal to the Home Minister to show compassion for the youth of J&K, many of whom she said are unjustly imprisoned. "We will work to get them released," she added. Iltija was talking to media persons here while campaigning for party candidate Bashir Ahmad Mir.

She said, “The Home Minister will have to soften his heart one day or another. For the people of Jammu and Kashmir, our youth, we will soften his heart. Our youth in jail are innocent. We will free them. We will stand against the muscular policy adopted by the Central Government,” Iltija said.

Earlier, in a candid moment during a rally in Ganderbal, Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, publicly acknowledged the fallibility of politicians, offering an apology for any past mistakes. Speaking to her supporters, Iltija emphasised that political leaders are human and can commit mistakes expressing her willingness to make amends. “If I have done wrong, I apologise,” Iltija told the crowd. In addition to the apology, Iltija reaffirmed her commitment to opening her heart to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, promising to work for the betterment of the region.

Iltija Mufti for second day continued the election campaign for her party candidates in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. On Saturday Iltija joined PDP Kangan candidate Syed Jamat Ali Shaheen for a road show in Kangan constituency, while on Sunday Iltija campaigned for Bashir Ahmed Mir , candidate for Ganderbal. She urged the people to vote for Mir who is a local and will be available to his people.
